Printers break. Or more accurately, they act up. Maybe the pages come out with faint lines, or the machine won't connect to your laptop, or it just sits there doing nothing when you hit print. We've seen all of it, and most of the time the fix doesn't require a service call or a new printer.
Our troubleshooting section is organized by problem type. Paper jams get their own guide because they're the number one issue people deal with, and the cause isn't always obvious. Sometimes it's the paper itself. Cheap paper or sheets that have been sitting in humid air will jam more often. Other times it's the pickup roller, which you can clean with a damp lint-free cloth in about two minutes.
Print quality problems are next on the list. Streaks, smudges, faded text, ghosting. Each one has a different cause. Streaky prints usually mean the toner cartridge is running low or needs to be reseated. Smudges near the edge of the page can point to a dirty fuser. We walk through each scenario step by step so you can narrow it down without guessing.
Connectivity issues are frustrating because the printer worked fine yesterday. If your printer drops off Wi-Fi, try restarting both the printer and your router before anything else. Sounds basic, but it resolves the problem about half the time. If it keeps happening, it might be a channel conflict with other devices on your network.
